Centro Tessile Cotoniero e Abbigliamento(CENTROCOT)
Centrocot is a certification, research and training center for companies throughout the textile, apparel and fashion production chain. Founded in Busto Arsizio (Varese, Italy) in 1987, Centrocot today employs over 100 people and is recognized as an excellence in the industry. With eight laboratories and more than 500 ACCREDIA accredited tests and a highly qualified staff, it is one of the most authoritative references in Italy for sustainability, quality, chemical safety, innovation, certification and circular economy in the textile sector. Centrocot is also a Notified Body of the European Commission for the emission of CE certification.
Through its Multi-Lab, Centrocot supports business innovation in the recycling of materials / products by verifying the characteristics of final performance. The Multi-Lab acts as a catalyst and demonstrator of experiences, a place for exchanging ideas and displaying the results inherent in R&D activities in a perspective of circular economy and industrial symbiosis.
Centrocot R&D department has over the years been key to develop many international research projects and connecting companies to reach their innovation and sustainability goals.
Centrcot can also acts as training centre, providing different training courses according to national and international training programs and specific requests from customers.
ROLE IN THE PROJECT
In DeremCo project, Centrocot will take care of the development of a hybrid yarn composed of two components: an internal component, the core, which is the backbone and contributes to the physical and mechanical properties characteristics. An external component, the sheath, will be composed of textile fiber bow, perfectly enveloping and compact. From that point, Centrocot will carry out an industrial technological development to arrive at an industrial demonstration of the new technology.
