POLITECNICO DI MILANO (POLIMI)
Politecnico di Milano is the leading Italian technical University where more than 45,000 engineers, architects and designers are educated each year. It is in the worldwide top 10 ranking for Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing Engineering (QS World University Raking).
The Manufacturing and Production System Lab is part of the Mechanical Engineering Department (POLIMI-MECC) and its main research topics are ranging from mechanical and technological characteristics of transformed materials to methodologies and tools for designing processes, planning, management and control of manufacturing and assembly systems.
The activities of Politecnico di Milano for the DeremCo project are held in the CIRC-eV Lab.
CIRC-eV Lab’s mission is developing a new Circular Factory concept to help the manufacturing industry recover and reuse components from hybrid and electric vehicles and promote new circular economy models for sustainable mobility. CIRC-eV is the first European laboratory dedicated to the Circular Factory concept.
It integrates disassembly, testing, reassembly and recycling of materials within the same structure, to design and enable sustainable circular economy solutions for the e-mobility sector. CIRC-eV will be equipped with Key Enabling Technologies (KET), focusing on the initial configuration and the most critical component for sustainable e-mobility such as lithium-ion batteries and composite materials.
