COMISSAO DE COORDENACAO E DESENVOLVIMENTO REGIONAL DO CENTRO(CCDR)

CCDRC is a regional agency of the Portuguese government that deals with environment, land use, urban planning and regional development in Centro Region of Portugal.

Within the regional development competences, CCDRC coordinates the regional smart specialisation strategy (S3) and promotes the internationalisation of the regional innovation ecosystem.

CCDRC is also the Managing Authority of Regional Programme of Centro Region, mobilising European Structural and Investment Funds, and, in this context, it supports research and technological development projects aligned with the regional smart specialisation areas.

In Centro region, CCDRC is the responsible body for the development of the regional agenda for the Circular Economy (which was developed in the context of the national Action Plan), and is structured in five priorities: Research and Technological Development to support the transition to the EC; Circular Procurement; Education, awareness and capacity building; Business strategies and industrial symbioses; and Circular economy as a driver for innovation and territorial cohesion.

ROLE IN THE PROJECT

As for interregional cooperation, CCDRC has been engaging in international projects to work on the promotion of the Circular Economy transition in the territory and Europe, such as SCREEN (Synergetic Circular Economy across European Regions - Horizon 2020) and REPLACE (REgional PoLicy Actions for Circular Economy - Interreg Europe). Within DeremCo, CCDRC will participate in all interregional cooperation activities and act as facilitator in the replication and multiplication effects of the project’s approach in the innovation ecosystem of Centro region. As a less-developed area, Centro region will work on the development of its ecosystem’s preparedness for the uptake of technologies and solutions for remanufacturing and demanufacturing approaches in the composite industry that are put forward by DeremCo.
