HOLONIX SRL

HOLONIX SRL

Holonix was born as a spin off from Politecnico di Milano in 2010, now completely autonomous. The Company provides advanced ICT solutions for the manufacturing domain, focused on the creation of value from data collected with IoT/CPS technologies and on the involvement of different companies from the value chain. Its staff is mainly coming from consultancy companies and has experience of industrial ICT implementation, while the link with the RTD is guaranteed by senior researchers holding a Ph.D. Holonix mainly focuses on the Lifecycle Data and Knowledge Management, and its core solution is the “i-LiKe” (intelligent Lifecycle data and Knowledge) platform, that collects data from smart products and production environment and aggregate them into formats that are used to create digital representations of the real world and can be used for advanced services supporting all the phases of the product LifeCycle, including production, where mobile and mixed reality visualisations of the data can be offered to operators and white collars, for supporting task execution and decision making.  Since its creation Holonix is deeply involved in standardization activities thank to the strong involvement of its founders in previous researches focused on the definition of information for product knowledge acquisition.  The company is member of The Open Group, an association that provides open, vendor-neutral IT standards and certifications in a variety of subject areas critical to the enterprise. In particular Holonix is involved the IoT Group that provides the framework to develop and consolidate open standards based on IoT paradigm necessary to enable lifecycle management to evolve beyond the traditional limits of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM).   Starting from Research and Innovation projects, Holonix brought to the market “iLiKe” (intelligent Lifecycle data and Knowledge) suite able to collect data from smart products and production environment and aggregate them into formats that are used to create digital representations of the real world and can be used for advanced services supporting all the phases of the product life cycle, including production. Another commercial product is “i-Like Machines” that is a platform to collect data from sensorised machines and offer services to monitor and support maintenance. Both i-Like and i-Like Machine derives from results of research projects. In addition to IOT related solutions, Holonix developed competences in Open Innovation, and has now developed a consultancy offer to support Manufacturing Industries in adopting the OI paradigm, in particular to develop innovation associated to the adoption of IoT technologies. Holonix has a wide experience in European projects and the company invest significant effort in research activities in order to innovate its product portfolio. HOLONIX now moved to the circular economy approach, developing platform solutions to enable new value chains creation and to avoid silos of information in single companies or single sectors

ROLE IN THE PROJECT

In DeremCo, the company provides advanced ICT solutions for the manufacturing domain, focused on the creation of value from data collected with IoT/CPS technologies and on the involvement of different companies from the value chain. Its staff is mainly coming from consultancy companies and has experience of industrial ICT implementation. The aim is to support companies in the entire DERE-M industry to participate to the circular economy approach, sharing knowledge and expertise and creating connections among companies and actors. The core of the platform will be an advanced search system that allows waste producers of composites materials and materials manufacturers, working in circular approach and coming from different sectors, to search each other according to not predefined terms and definition. This allows for example a manufacturer to search for a generic material that has specific characteristics – i.e. density, temperature resistance – in a completely unknown word, and receive from the system suggestions on existing recycled material, even from other sectors, that answer to the need. For specific business plan see impact section.
