The beginnings of the organization date back to 1982. The initial activity of toolmaking in a small workshop led to foundation of a manufacturing company in 1989. Today, we cover a wide array of products - from plastic and rubber items to metal machinery and components with production of thermoplastic injection and metal forming tools.
We employ over 130 people and cooperate with marquee customers in metal processing industries: from household appliances to electrical and lighting, automotive and aviation, as well as production for general consumption. With 30+ years of experience in product manufacturing and processing we offer project implementation, consulting, technical assistance, production of tools and operational process controlling.
Over 80% of our revenues are generated on foreign markets, through our own brand Tehnos and products, sold to B2B partners.
The company's long-term development strategy is based on mastering even more demanding technologies with large financial investments and expanding the assortment of its own brand products. Throughout the years we have been building good mutual relations, which we see as the basis for a respectful attitude towards our customers, partners, suppliers, colleagues, and the environment.
ROLE IN THE PROJECT
Tehnos will display the possibility of using recycled glass fibres as reinforcement for thermoplastic composites parts in its’ products.
A drive axle extension protector is a plastic product part of a flail mower (mulcher), produced at Tehnos. Protective covers are currently produced with injection moulding technology from thermoplastic composites without glass fibres. Our goal is to offer a more sustainable version of agricultural machinery to our customers. The glass fibres of the waste composites will be used as reinforcement and its’ matrix as a nucleating agent.
The prototypes will be made in cooperation with project partners (grinding, compounding, and material testing). Injection moulding and product testing will be done at Tehnos.
Together with Politecnico di Milano, Tampereen Korkeakoulusaatio Fundacion Tecnalia research centre and Faculty of Polymer Technology we will develop tailored-made solutions for our demo case.
