ROLE IN THE PROJECT

 

Our involvement in DeremCo project is the development of a more sustainable version of rail for ski bindings for our customers. Instead of using thermoplastic composites with virgin glass fibres, we aim to show the possibility to use the recycled glass fibres. The waste glass composite material will be used as reinforcement (waste composite fibres) and nucleating agent (waste composite matrix) together with the needed additives for the thermoplastic composite.

The prototypes will be made in cooperation with project partners: grinding of composite parts (project partner Technol and other project partners), compounding (with virgin and recycled thermoplastic matrix will be used from industrial waste from Turnaplast) and testing will be conducted at FTPO in cooperation with Politecnico di Milano, Tampereen Korkeakoulusaatio and Fundacion techalia research & innovation.
