Politecnico di Milano and Enel Green Power attended the End-of-Life Issues & Strategies (EoLIS) Seminar 2024, held on December 4-5 in Gothenburg. Organized by WindEurope, this key event in the wind energy sector focused on wind turbine blade recycling as the industry prepares for a Europe-wide landfill ban on these blades starting in 2025.
The seminar highlighted the advancements in wind turbine blade recycling technologies, emphasizing innovative approaches to making recovered composite materials ready for reuse in various industrial applications. The collaborative efforts within the industry aim to develop sustainable recycling solutions, ensuring post-use blades are effectively reintegrated into the value chain through "demand-driven" and "cross-sectorial" circular economy paradigms.
